Meet the team behind your holidays in the Maldives

Max first discovers the Maldivian archipelago at the age of 21 while on holiday with his father. In 1992 he starts working on the island of Boduhithi as a diving instructor and in 1994 he boards the motor yacht Fathuhul Bari, taking charge for two years. With the Fathuhul Bari he begins to discover the archipelago, above and below the surface of the sea. 1998 is the start of his career as resort manager, which is to continue until the end of 2004. In January 2005 he moves to Malé, where he starts building Dhoni Stella. Max is also the author of the "Maldives Cruising Guide". Published in 2008, the book is the most comprehensive to cover the archipelago.

Nasru joined the company in 2008, with his qualified experience in the tourism sector. Nasru has worked in several Maldivian resorts as Guests Relation Officer and Front Office staff before to move to Male where he worked as Operations Manager in a construction company. He has also coordinated a few projects of the International Red Cross in the country, completed after the Tzunami of 2004. Nasru coordinates the scuba diving of both the Dhonis Stella.

Ali is the owner of the Dhonis Stella and he takes personally care of the maintenance and the crew of the boats. He has a long term experience in the local Tourism Industry, first as chef in the Maldivian resorts, then as captain of Dhonis Stella. 

Niyaz (nick name Kudey), is the most experienced crew member of our team. He is on board of the Dhonis Stella since the construction in 2008. He has an exstensive knowledge of the archipelago and he is working on the local live-a-boards since the 90's. He has been the steward and assistant capitain of the Dhonis for years and he has been recently promoted captain of Stella 1 in 2018. 

Hameed (nick name Barey) is a long term experienced captain and divemaster. He knows all the diving spots of the archipelago above and under the sea surface. He joined Dhonis Stella in 2008 and since then he is the captain of Dhoni Stella 2. Before to join the Dhonis Stella he has been the skipper of other larger live-a-boards in the Maldives.
